JIM DINE AND ALDO CROMMELYNCK

The Librairie Saint-Hubert will be showing from 19th Jan. to 30th March 2008 a selection of prints produced by Jim Dine with master printer Aldo Crommelynck in the 1980s and 1990s.
Foremost American artist Jim Dine met Aldo Crommelynck in Paris in 1975 and worked with him until Aldo retired in 1997. A bond of deep mutual appreciation between the artist and his printer as well as 126 plates resulted from their collaboration.
Born in 1931 as the second son of Belgian playwright Fernand Crommelynck, Aldo who trained and worked with Roger Lacourière is considered one of the greatest master printers of the 20th century. Crommelynck worked with artists such as Matisse, Picasso, and Braque, but also David Hockney, Richard Hamilton, Jim Dine, Jasper Johns, and Peter Blake to name just of few.In Nov. 2006 the Librairie Saint-Hubert launched Jim Dine’s Pinocchio book and lithographs.This time the exhibition of 58 plates focuses on Dine’s earlier prints and is a tribute to
