Francois Marcadon « BITE ME »
From february 28th to april 5th 2010

“BITE ME” is the first solo exhibition of François Marcadon in Brussels.

Since some time his work has beared witness to an interest in the body: its image, its various physical states with a strong inclination towards an erotic body where vulnerability and mortality are implicit.

For the Saint Hubert Library the artist has chosen to exhibit a particularly erotic aspect of his practice. Here, he presents a series of drawings in ink and watercolours, a self portrait painted directly on the gallery walls combined with clothing made from paper : this unusual use of material shows, firstly, material for dressing, for undressing, playing with the frustration that this clothing is unwearable and ephemeral by the nature of its extreme fragility: therefore, substituting an element of fantasy.
